At RG Advocates – Medical Bill Solutions, we understand that for many people (individuals and employers alike) healthcare reform has generated more questions and uncertainty than answers.
Knowledge is power. We would like to help you or your business resolve issues regarding your healthcare and ease the transition to the "new rules." Until we have the opportunity to meet personally, we have compiled some information that may answer some of your questions.

FAQ
Q: Are your services confidential and private?
A: Absolutely. At RG Advocates, we adhere to all requirements of the Health Care Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Your information is not shared without your permission and is handled with professionalism and respect.
Q: How far back can you look at my medical bills
A: Usually, two years is the maximum, although there are circumstances that allow us to go back further.
Q: I don't have all my medical bills...can you still help me?
A: Yes. When we become your advocate, we request itemized bills (and medical records when necessary) from all of your medical providers. You simply provide us the contact information and we take it from there.
Q: What kinds of mistakes do you find on medical bills?
A: Multiple billings for the same item, unbundled charges (separately billed items that should have been billed as a group at a lower rate), incorrect diagnosis and procedure codes, inappropriate denials by the insurance company, insurance payments made at the wrong percentage, improper identification of "in network" and "out of network" providers, and last but not least, human error.

Q: Why can't I do this myself?
A: In some cases, you might be able to. However, we have the necessary expertise to deal with the medical jargon, complex coding and myriad of "customer service representatives" that make up this healthcare "system" of ours. Our lives are busy and complicated without having to sort out these problems. And you want to save your time for yourself and your family, especially if someone is dealing with an illness.

Q: Why shouldn't I just hire a lawyer?
A: You can if you prefer. However, most attorneys are not in the business of analyzing medical bills and do not possess the particular "tools of the trade" to do so. We are not lawyers and our services do not constitute "legal advice." We provide specialized services utilizing expertise and resources specific to the outcomes we seek on your behalf. We have a nationwide network of support and the work of medical billing advocates has been receiving national media attention. Our services are actually available to attorneys who recognize that we possess expertise they don't have on their staff.
